The brief
Bjorn wants a bed, a fire, useful storage, and somewhere to display trophies. The crew would also like the homeowner to survive an evening indoors.
The planned renovation starts with the basics: ventilation, a stable structure, sensible circulation, and a foundation that supports the idea above it.
The inspection list
Trace the smoke route from the fire to the outdoors. Inspect the frame and support connections. Review the floor plan. Leave space for storage without turning the entrance into an obstacle course.
Gunnar is on materials. Predictably, he has recommended more core wood.
